The Atlanta Vibe pushed the Dallas Pulse to five sets on March 1, falling 3–2 in a tight, emotional matchup that featured a major milestone for Outside Hitter Leah Edmond, who became the first player in Major League Volleyball history to reach 1,000 career kills.
Dallas took the opening set 25–21, but Atlanta answered with a gritty 29–27 win behind Edmond’s seven kills. After the Pulse claimed set three, the Vibe stormed back from a 16–9 deficit in the fourth, winning 25–21 with Edmond and Opposite Hitter Anna Dixon combining for 13 kills in the frame.
Atlanta’s offense stayed balanced all night with contributions from Dixon (13 kills), Taylor Smith (12 kills), and Middle Blocker Phoebe Awoleye, who added eight kills, four blocks, and an ace. Despite the momentum swings, Dallas closed out the fifth set 15–10.
Edmond finished with 22 kills, three blocks, six digs, an ace, and an assist — and reflected on her milestone as “just the beginning” for both her career and the league.
